Happy Easter!! He is risen indeed!!!!
He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ #Luke24:6

Did you know? The altar area at The Upper Room’s international headquarters in Nashville, Tenn. features a nearly life-size woodcarving of The Last Supper – the scene of Jesus and his disciples eating together during the Passover and prior to his crucifixion.
Holy Week Question of the Day! What was Judas paid for identifying Jesus to the Roman soldier? Thirty pieces of silver. According to the Gospel of Matthew, Judas went to the chief priests and agreed to hand over Jesus to soldiers in exchange for 30 pieces of silver. Judas later felt remorse for his actions and returned the silver to the high priests. The priests didn’t want to return this “tainted” silver to the treasury, so they used it to purchase the burial ground called Potter’s field.
What do palm branches symbolize on Palm Sunday? Palms were a symbol of victory in the Roman Empire. John 12:13 and Matthew 21:8 refer to palm branches being laid on the path as Jesus rode into Jerusalem, which can now be seen as symbolic of his victory over death. “Let these branches be for us signs of his victory; and grant that we who bear them may always acclaim Jesus Messiah by walking the way of his suffering and cross…” – from an ‘Order of Worship for #PalmSunday.’

Do you need help? Did you know Bluffton UMC has trained Stephen Ministers available to minister to you? Even though we experience seasons of celebration, we all go through difficulties and hardships in life. It’s during those times that we may find ourselves wondering if God understands us. The truth is that He does understand, and He cares so deeply that He sent His only Son to die for us and rescue us from our sins. What an amazing sacrifice! Not only that, He loves us and cares enough to comfort us when we’re hurting. As we complete our Lenten journey, we continue to be reminded of just how much Jesus suffered for us. But the glory of Easter is that He arose victorious over the grave, and gave us His Holy Spirit to comfort and guide us in all we do. We are Easter People and we can rest assured that, no matter what the circumstances, Jesus is with us “always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20 NIV) If you are hurting now, please know that Bluffton UMC has trained Stephen Ministers available to minister to you. They’ll confidentially listen to, encourage and remind you of Jesus’ love and His presence in your life. Please contact one of our Stephen Leaders, Mary Ellen Parks or Sara Jenkins. #weAreHereToHELP #StephenMinistry #loveBlufftonSC
